Created by Jolyon Attwooll, a south-east London dweller for the best part of a decade, mostly in Hither Green. Once a guidebook writer, and a commissioning editor for a national newspaper.

I passionately believe that a vigorous local press helps create a thriving, engaged local democracy, and despair at the stories that are not being told due to the lack of coverage of Lewisham.

This is a small, and inevitably sporadic attempt to do something about it – and to have a bit of fun writing about the area at the same time. I would love to be able to dedicate more time to it, but with two young children and a full-time job, I am usually fighting a losing battle. If you would like to help in any way, please get in touch. It would be great to hear from people with stories to contribute, and ideas to cover SE13 and around in an original and impartial way.

The park needs TLC. Lewisham Council propose to re-landscape using Heritage Lottery Fund grant. Completely OTT, all that is required is upgrading of what is there already and maintenance. The Mansion House, on the other hand, is a whole new ball game.
